Bruce provides a range of consulting services to Foley Group’s ranch and rural landowner clients. Originally trained in general business and accounting (The Pennsylvania State University; B.S. Accounting, 1983), he provides specialized expertise in Conservation/Limited Development Projects, Ranch Hospitality & Guest Services, Feasibility Studies, Conservation Easements and Property Economics.

In addition to supporting a diverse group of clients and ranch master planning applications over the past several years, Bruce’s background includes direct experience with privately capitalized limited development projects. He has managed economic feasibility review, marketing and sales activities, and other general management functions for these projects – each incorporating innovative protective development strategies for agricultural lands in transition.

His work has included acquisition due diligence, market analysis, feasibility studies, concept programming, financial modeling, investor due diligence packages, and implementation of conservation easements and other specific land preservation objectives. Throughout these projects he has led or been an integral part of numerous multi-disciplinary teams addressing a wide array of ranch diversification and land ownership issues.

Bruce also oversees application of Foley Group’s field mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools within client projects. Prior to his consulting and conservation development experience, he worked with two regional high tech startup firms specializing in GPS/GIS mapping and land information technologies. During this tenure he served as market development specialist and project manager assisting federal and state land management agencies, engineering and planning firms, environmental consultants and agribusiness companies in applying digital mapping systems, data and analytics to various resource management and land use issues.

In addition to the above, Bruce has also previously held positions in commercial banking and mortgage lending. He is an affiliate member of both the Appraisal Institute and the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA). He also holds an active Montana real estate license.

Bruce enjoys exploring Montana’s rural landscapes, back roads and historic places and especially appreciates the region’s fly-fishing, shooting sports, hiking and other outdoor recreational opportunities.
